In the start line of Columna Medica Baja Poland 2016 - the seventh round of this year’s FIA Cross Country World Cup we will see a five-time winner of the event, Krzysztof Hołowczyc. The experienced driver will take the seat behind a wheel of MINI All4Racing maintained by the German X-raid team. The co-driver of a popular Hołek will once again be a well-known to Polish fans Łukasz Kurzeja.

The Polish round of the FIA Cross Country World Cup is a special event for Krzysztof Hołowczyc. At the end of the day it was the former European rally champion who brought the best cross-country crews in the world to Szczecin. Moreover the driver from Olsztyn still holds a record number of wins (5) in the event, which special stages are located on the military area in Drawsko Pomorskie and nearby Dobra county. More than that, after winning the last year event he announced the withdrawal from cross-country rallies, while this year’s outing is only a bow for his faithful fans.

- Baja Poland is a very important event for me. It is also as high in the hierarchy as my beloved Rally Poland. When I announced my withdrawal from cross-country rallying in Szczecin last year, I already knew I would do everything to be on the start of future editions of Baja Poland. This plan is now being executed. Polish fans can count on me also this time and I will do my best to win for the sixth time in this competition. As always, it won’t be easy, because the rivals in World Cup are very strong and I have not been driving a cross-country car for a while now. You simply can’t forget some of the things you learned and I am hoping this will be the case here – Krzysztof Hołowczyc summed up.

Columna Medica Baja Poland will begin on Friday, 26th of August afternoon and will end on Sunday, 28th of August. The total distance of the rally is 788 kilometers, 472 of which are special stages.
